Salina (KS) Fire Chief Resigns Amid Time Card Scandal

Salina Fire Chief Kevin Royse tendered his resignation Friday following an audit of department finances that showed inaccurate time card reporting.

The audit said “time card fraud” cost more than $75,000, KWCH reports. The chief had been placed on administrative leave in the wake of the audit.

Former Captain Tim LePage, who reported the fraud, said he hopes the resignation does not end the issue. He hopes those involved are punished.
