Phoenix Firefighters Find Body Inside Apartment

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Fire Department says one person has been found dead inside a central Phoenix apartment complex. Fire department spokesman Deputy Chief Frank Solomon tells The Associated Press that crews entered the complex Thursday at 16th Street and Maryland Avenue around 9:30 a.m. and encountered heavy smoke and flames in one unit. Walls, carpeting and furniture was on fire.

As crews entered they discovered a body. There were no other injuries and the cause is under investigation.
