HOMESTEAD, Pa. (AP) – The Allegheny County fire marshal is investigating a fire that briefly left a family of four trapped on the porch roof of their Pittsburgh-area home.
Firefighters in Homestead used extension ladders to help a couple and their two daughters down from the roof after the fire was reported about 3 a.m.
The family was upstairs when the fire broke out and climbed out second-story windows onto the roof above their porch as police arrived. Officers didn’t have a ladder, but urged the family to remain calm until firefighters arrived to bring them down.
No injuries have been reported.
