North Carolina Firefighter Killed in House Fire

MACON COUNTY, N.C – A North Carolina firefighter has died and his son injured after a fire broke out at their home early Friday morning.

WLOS reports that a Nantahala Fire Department volunteer firefighter was killed and his nine-year old son burned when fire struck their home.

The Macon County fire occured at 600 Briartown Church Road just after 1:00 a.m.

The names of the victims have not been released.
