3tc Software Ltd is pleased to announce that Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) have selected MODAS as their corporate mobile data solution. The MODAS solution includes a communications gateway, back office and front office applications that link into GMFRS Command & Control and various other existing GMFRS systems. MODAS will be available for use on every fire engine and will provide crews with risk critical information en-route to an incident and at the incident.
The principal reason for the system is to ensure that the safety of both the public and firefighters is maintained by providing crews with information at their fingertips and allowing efficient and secure communications with the Control room and other attending fire engines using various communications bearers.
GMFRS tested MODAS comprehensively to assess reliability, availability, maintainability and future growth to ensure that the product survives in its working environment and can adapt to the needs of GMFRS today and meet the challenges of tomorrow. The system was evaluated against a number of other solutions including the MDT software provided as part of the legacy of FiReControl.
