Missouri Firefighters Rescue Christmas Gifts from Burning Home

RIVERVIEW, Mo. (AP) – Firefighters couldn’t prevent flames from damaging a home in suburban St. Louis, but they did manage to save a bit of Christmas.

Neighbors told KMOV-TV (http://bit.ly/Tiq86M ) the man whose Riverview home caught fire Monday night is a single father who was working when the fire broke out.

Firefighters noticed some wrapped Christmas presents and pulled the packages to safety after determining no one was inside the house.

Authorities said the fire began in the attic, then spread to other parts of the home. The cause is under investigation.
