Memphis Firefighters Burned in Intentional House Fire

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Two Memphis firefighters have been injured battling a house fire that officials say was intentionally set.

The Memphis Fire Department ultimately sent 35 emergency response personnel to a blaze that was reported Monday night.

Department Lt. Wayne Cooke said one firefighter’s ears were burned and another had burns to his hands and face. Both were taken to the burn unit at the Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.

Cooke said fire investigators found that someone had set the vacant house on fire from inside.
