Memphis Firefighter’s Facebook Comments Get Him Transferred to Different Station

Memphis, TN — A firefighter who offended some with his comments on Facebook has been temporarily transferred from his station in Frayser, officials said late Tuesday.

Robert Kramer also resigned his leadership position in the Memphis Fire Fighters Association on Monday.

His new post will be at Station 32 on Presidents Island, Memphis Fire Department spokesman Lt. Wayne Cooke said. Kramer will remain there until the investigation is completed, Cooke added.

Kramer made disparaging comments in Facebook posts about Frayser and its residents, saying in one that he noticed a rainbow, then references a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow by saying, “The only gold in Frayser is in people’s mouth.”

In a later post, Kramer talked about going to “one of the retarded schools in Frayser tomorrow.”
