PARIS, Maine — WGME reports that the Paris Fire Department is back to full staff after an early dispute led to firefighters resigning.

18 firefighters had quit last week over the alleged reversal of a personnel decision of the fire chief by two officials.

The nature of the dispute, or the exact details, were not made known beyond it being a safety decision.

After two hours in a closed meeting the Paris Select Board and the fire chief announced that all the firefighters who quit are officially back to work.

Fire Chief Mark Blaquiere said that whatever happened is in the past and thanked the community for supporting the fire department.
