Lompoc (CA) Fire Chief Retires After Being Placed on Administrative Leave

Lompoc Fire Department Chief Alicia Welch will be retiring in July.

The announcement comes while the chief was placed on administrative leave following an arrest an San Luis Obispo County following an alleged domestic violence-related incident in Cambria last month, News Channel 3-12 reports.

The chief’s decision to retire should bring an end to the matter, as the San Luis Obispo County prosecutor announced there will be no charges brought against her related to the incident for lack of evidence.

The retirement takes effect on July 20.
