Fox Lake (Illinois) Fire Protection District Adopts Aladtec’s FIRE Manager to Revamp Their Scheduling and Workforce Management System

ST. PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Public safety sector agencies often discuss new products, and what saves them time, resources and money.  This exchange of information is how Fox Lake Protection District picked FIRE Manager for online scheduling and workforce management.  “Several other departments were using FIRE Manager and they were happy with the ease of use.  I was unable to find another product that could do the job that FIRE Manager does.  The other systems were too complex,” explains Greg Migacz, Lieutenant and IT Administrator, Fox Lake Fire Protection District, Fox Lake, Illinois.

Lieutenant Migacz also states that an indirect benefit to the approximate 30,000 citizens they provide service for is that FIRE Manager allows them to offer “better coverage” from the efficiencies the system brings to the department.

FIRE Manager is available to administrators and members 24/7/365 from anywhere there’s Internet access…including web enabled smart phones and other mobile devices with Internet capabilities.  The messaging system allows administrators to easily send emails, texts or instant messages to a specific person, shift or the entire staff instantaneously.  By using FIRE Manager for scheduling, Lieutenant Migacz indicates the department no longer has to deal with constant texts and calls from the 73 staff members regarding their schedule and schedule preferences.  The schedule is always current and staff can submit availability and trade shifts without involving an administrator.  “FIRE Manager allows the person who does the schedule to save time,” states Lieutenant Migacz. “And, everyone always has the same info for sign-ups…it’s up to the minute information.”

FIRE Manager recently rolled out a new release which has an improved user interface and a number of feature updates.  “It has some nice benefits, including the monthly calendar layout,” adds Lieutenant Migacz.

In existence since 1908 the Fox Lake Fire Protection District serves all or part of the following communities in Northeastern Illinois: Village of Fox Lake, Village of Round Lake, McHenry, Ingleside, Lakemoor, Spring Grove, Volo, Grant and Antioch Townships.
