FL Fire Chief Sets Up Video Sting on Department Personnel Now Accused of Stealing

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Fire Chief Judson Hopping has filed a police report on two employees who he said he caught stealing.

The two employees, John and Cheryl Louvaris, are a husband and wife who served the department as deputy chief and secretary, have been terminated, WPLG reports.

Hopping’s investigation involved pay for work not done, missing supplies and equipment, and stolen fuel.

Hopping is working with the town’s legal department to get a full accounting of all equipment, supplies, and taxpayer funds involved, WPLG reports.
