LEVITTOWN, NY (LevittownPatch) – Four occupants and one firefighter were sent to the hospital during a fire at a home at 98 Prentice Lane early Friday morning.
According to detectives, the fire broke out shortly after midnight. There were four occupants inside the home at the time of the fire who escaped quickly after it was discovered. A 46-year-old female and three 11-year-old children suffered smoke inhalation.
They were transported by fire department ambulance to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment. According to NUMC spokesperson Shelley Lotenberg, they were treated and discharged.
While responding to the scene, a 20-year-old male firefighter from the Levittown Fire Department dislocated his knee and was also sent to the hospital.
The Arson Bomb Squad and the Nassau County Fire Marshal were present at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
