TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) – Some University of Arizona students had to find temporary housing after a fire damaged their sorority house.
The fire was reported about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Alpha Phi Sorority House on the Tucson campus.
The Arizona Daily Star (http://bit.ly/xhm87l) says the building’s fire alarm sounded after the sprinkler activated in one of the rooms.
The sprinkler extinguished the fire and confined the damage to the room where the fire started. The fire was caused by an electrical malfunction with a television.
All 56 people in the building had evacuated by time firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
There was water damage and possible damage to the building’s wiring system. Power may not be available until repairs are completed.
