Fed Up With ‘Favoritism, Retaliation, Unfair Pay’ Marietta (GA) Firefighters Quit

Several Marietta firefighters walked off the job Wednesday, fed up with what they say is unfair pay, favoritism and retaliation.

The walkout of at least two firefighters at a city council meeting follows months of wrangling between the department management and firefighters over what firefighters say is favoritism within the department, Atlanta News First reports.

One firefighters presented the city council with a 90-page list of grievances as he delivered his resignation.

Chief Tim Milligan told Atlanta News First that he and city leaders have been working to win raises for firefighters this year and trying to address some of the grievances.
