Detroit Firefighters Use Foam on Commercial Building Fire

DETROIT (WDIV) – Firefighters are working to contain and extinguish a fire that has turned into a hazmat situation in southwest Detroit.

The fire started just after 4 a.m. Thursday in a mechanics garage at Sunoco Logistics, which is on Dix Road near Sanders Street.

The situation is being treated as a hazmat because there is oil, diesel fuel, tires and other related equipment in the garage.

Firefighters are using foam on the fire.

No injuries have been reported. A cause is still be investigated.
