DETROIT (WDIV) – A 59-year-old Detroit firefighter was found dead Monday in his home on the city’s west side.
Local 4 has learned that David Madrigal’s body was found when his son went to check on him at his home on Vaughn.
Police and fire department officials confirmed that he’s been a firefighter for more than 25 years.
Police said the victim’s Ford Explorer was missing from the home, but was later found.
Local 4 has also learned that an upstairs bedroom was ransacked and a safe is missing.
An autopsy is planned Tuesday to determine how Madrigal died.
Police have not released a description of anyone they might be looking for in connection to the death.
