City of Las Vegas, The State of Nevada has issued the following news release:
Deputy Fire Chief Scott Fuller has been named the city of Las Vegas interim fire chief. Chief Fuller brings more than 21 years of service with Las Vegas Fire & Rescue to the job, having served as a firefighter, engineer, captain, battalion chief, assistant fire chief and deputy fire chief.
Chief Fuller takes over for retired Chief Mike Myers whose last day with the department was Feb. 7, 2013. Myers had been with the fire department since 1986, and had served as chief for the last two years. The process for finding a permanent replacement is expected to be finalized later this month.

“I’m excited about this new challenge, and I’m going to ensure that the high service standards that make Las Vegas Fire & Rescue one of the top departments in the country continue,” said Chief Fuller, who added that he does not intend to pursue the job on a permanent basis.
Chief Fuller was promoted to deputy chief in January 2008, and he joined Las Vegas Fire & Rescue in July 1991.
