Broken Down and Abandoned at Wildland Fire, Louisville (CO) Fire Truck Returns from the Dead

Six months ago, while fighting the devastating Marshall Fire, Louisville firefighters abandoned their rig when ash clogged its air filter and it gave out.

They weren’t sure they’d ever see it again. But the fire didn’t destroy the truck. It still has scars from those difficult days, but it was repaired and returned to service.

What better chance to celebrate its return that putting it in the victory parade for the Colorado Avalanche celebrating their Stanley Cup win.

Firefighters in the celebration said its presence was not missed by spectators, many of whom pointed and cheered when they saw the truck.

The Marshall Fire, which started on December 30, 2021, burned more than 1,000 structures, making it the worst in Colorado history.
