Atlanta Firefighter Injured in Fall from Ladder

ATLANTA (AP) – A firefighter was injured while trying to extinguish an apartment fire in southwest Atlanta.

Atlanta fire officials told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/vuAzZS) the fire was reported before 4:30 a.m. Friday at the complex.

George Howell of the Atlanta Fire Department said no residents were reported injured, but a firefighter suffered a possible back injury when he fell from a ladder.

Resident Vanessa Brown said her apartment was just above the unit where the fire apparently broke out. She said she heard people yelling downstairs, and rushed out her front door.
