Arrest Made in California Four-Alarm Store Fire

PITTSBURG, Calif. (AP) – Authorities have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of starting a fire that consumed a tire store on the Pittsburg-Antioch Highway and filled the skies with black smoke.

Contra Costa County fire officials say Rajnesh Reddy was arrested on Tuesday night and booked into county jail. He is suspected of lighting an illegal firework that sparked the blaze earlier in the day.

It consumed the tire business, Blue Star Tires, and also destroyed classic cars.

Fire Capt. Robert Marshall says two men suffered minor injuries in the blaze. Neither of them was hospitalized.

It took firefighters hours to bring the four-alarm blaze under control.
