10 Firefighters Injured in Queens Building Fire

NEW YORK (AP) – Fire officials say 10 firefighters and two residents were injured in a fire at a three-story building in Queens.

The three-alarm blaze erupted at 2:55 a.m. Monday at 143-05 45th Ave. in a building that housed a Laundromat on the first floor and apartments above.

It was brought under control at 5:56 a.m.

The two civilians were taken to a hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

The firefighters were treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire and where it originated are under investigation.
