Abou-Arab entered Alford pleas during his 2017 trial.

In an Alford plea, the defendant doesn’t admit guilt, but acknowledges that there is enough evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

This often results in pleaing guilty to a lesser crime

Judge Stacy Cook found him guilty of the charges of two counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated arson.
