39-Year-Old Shot, Killed in Seaford (DE) Residence; House Set Ablaze

Oct. 24—A 39-year-old person was shot and killed in a residence near Seaford before the house was set on fire early Sunday, according to Delaware State Police.

The Seaford Fire Department responded to a house fire call shortly after 2 a.m. at a residence in the 11000 block of Hastings Farm Road, near the Middleford Speedway, police said.

Upon arrival, firefighters extinguished the fire and found the person who had died from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. Unknown people forced entry through the side door of the residence and fired multiple rounds, shooting the person once before they fell to the living room floor, according to police.

The suspects then set fire to the living room before leaving the residence on foot, police said. Identification of the person is awaiting notification of next of kin.

Hastings Farm Road was closed for about seven hours while the incident was investigated.
