Arkansas Firefighter Killed in Fire Apparatus Accident

PLAINVIEW, Arkansas — A volunteer firefighter was killed in a motor vehicle accident during training in Yell County.

Authorities tell the River Valley Leader that Plainview firefighter Lance Crawford SR., 50, was killed when the fire apparatus he was driving, a tank truck, left the roadway and overturned.  The vehicle overturned several times before coming to a stop.

Arkansas State Police investigated the accident and said that it occurred during the fire department’s weekly drill and meeting.  The weather was clear and the roadway was dry when the accident occurred.
