Dash cam shows confrontation with Bourbon Fire Protection District Chief

BOURBON, Missouri – KMOV reported that a fire chief is off the job in Crawford County after getting into a verbal and physical altercation with police officers during a traffic stop.

Daniel Whatley, the fire chief of the Bourbon Fire Protection District, was one of three people in a SUV that was speeding and ran a stop sign last Friday.

A Bourbon Police Department officer activated his lights and caught up to the SUV. The dash camera picked up the following conversation: 

The Bourbon Fire Protection District said Chief Whatley is suspended pending further investigation of charges. Those charges include second-degree assault, resisting arrest and armed criminal action.
