Sprinkler system knocks fire in Reisterstown apartment for seniors

REISTERSTOWN, Maryland – Firefighters in Baltimore County responded to a fire in an apartment building for seniors in Reisterstown on Tuesday.

WJZ reports that firefighters were dispatched to the Meadows of Reisterstown in the 300 block of Cantana Court after 7:00 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to see smoke showing from the fourth floor.

The apartment’s sprinkler system was activated and helped contain the fire.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and one occupant was displaced.

The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical on the balcony.
