ST. PETERS, Missouri – Ozarks First reports that two St. Peters youth opened a lemonade stand for the purpose of helping a wounded firefighter.

Cooper and his sister Olivia opened a lemonade stand to raise money for Firefighter Arlydia Bufford.

Bufford is a Kinloch Fire Protection District firefighter who was critically wounded during a deadly shooting inside a St. John Applebee’s restaurant last week.

Social media posts helped bring attention to the lemonade stand effort and Olivia and Cooper sold cold drinks for six hours and raised more than $1,100 to help Bufford.

28-year-old Courtney Washington is behind bars and charged with the shooting the wounded Bufford and another woman and killed one person.
