Wisconsin Firefighters Rescue People Trapped at Apartment Fire

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wisconsin – WIProud reports that firefighters rescued two people from a burning apartment building on Sunday.

Firefighters from the Chippewa Falls Fire Department and Chippewa Fire District responded to an apartment fire in the 600 block of Island Street at approximately 4:25 a.m.

Firefighters rescued two people who had been trapped on the roof of the second story.

Occupants of the apartment below rescued one adult and two kids from the second story apartment.

No one was injured in the fire.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
