Miami-Dade Firefighter Injured in Fall Down Elevator Shaft

BAL HARBOUR, Florida – A Miami-Dade firefighter was flown to a trauma center after being injured in a fall.

WSVN and WPLG report that firefighters responded to the Neiman Marcus at Bal Harbour Shops at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Firefighters were assisting a person stuck in an elevator car on the third floor.

Officials did not confirm if the firefighter fell from the third floor and how the firefighter fell.

The firefighter was flown to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
