A preview of a FDIC 2020 Hands on Training event
Fort Wayne Fire Department
Monday, April 20, 2020
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
This highly interactive course provides attendees with opportunities to test the latest equipment through ample hands-on skills evolutions.
Over the past 20 years, the public safety approach to high-threat, mass-casualty incidents has undergone significant changes. The ongoing evolution of these events shows the need for responders to continue to adapt strategy and tactics to safely and efficiently mitigate these incidents.
On completion of this course, participants will have the basic knowledge and capacity to apply tactics for providing care in the warm zone at these incidents.
The evidence-based content of this evolution is consistent with current best practices and guidelines from the Department of Homeland Security, National Fire Protection Association 3000, and the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care.
Attendees will be given the tools, skills, and information to continue training at their departments specific to implementing a Rescue Task Force.
They will leave with instructional materials, knowledge of evidence-based medicine specific to high-threat incidents, and a framework for program design.
