Helmet Cam Captures Collapse at California House Fire

FRESNO, California – The partial collapse of house during a fire was caught on the helmet cam of a Fresno firefighter Monday.

YourCentralVally.com reported that firefighters had to switch to defensive tactics due to the amount of fire inside the structure.

The fire near E Street and Monterey Street began before 6:00 p.m. Fresno Fire Department Captain Robert Castillo said that fire in the basement eventually extended into the upper floors and attic.

Castillo noted that everyone inside the home got out safely but that there were no working smoke alarms inside. There were no reported injuries to firefighters and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
