Kentucky Firefighters Injured in Crash

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – Two Kentucky firefighters were injured when their fire engine was struck by a tractor-trailer on Tuesday.

WAVE reports that Munfordville firefighters were dispatched to an accident near the Munfordville Exit on Interstate 56 when their vehicle was struck.

Firefighters Charles Jones and Jeremy Reynolds were injured when the semi struck their fire engine causing it to overturn. Both were transported to Caverna Hospital where they were treated for their injuries and released.

Kentucky State Police have cited the truck driver, Hardeep Gill, for failure to give right of way to an emergency vehicle and for failure to give right of way to a stopped emergency vehicle.
