Oceanside, CA House Fire

ASAPTV – 05.24.2019 | 07:04pm | OCEANSIDE

At 7:04pm on Friday night, Oceanside Police Department responded to a reported structure fire in the area of North Way and Navigator Circle in Oceanside. Oceanside Police Department confirmed this report of a structure fire in a duplex, and began evacuating neighboring houses, after being advised by neighbors that all of the residents were out/gone. Oceanside Fire Department arrived on scene soon after to find a house with heavy flame involvement. An aggressive interior attack began as other firefighters vented the roof. During this time a “2nd Alarm” assignment had been requesting, adding many more units to the fire, including an additional battalion chief, 5 engines, rescue ambulance, investigator, light and air unit, and truck company. At around 7:29pm the “2nd Alarm” assignment was cancelled, and at 7:30pm the fire was marked as “Under Control”.

Trees behind the house on the “Charlie Side” of the building became involved in flames and were quickly extinguished. Smoke could be seen from 3+ miles away, and nearby streets such as Vista Way had reduced visibility due to the heavy smoke. Firefighters and investigators remained on scene for more than 3 hours.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
