WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A person has died of life-threatening injuries after being rescued from an apartment fire Monday morning in Southeast Washington.
DC Fire and EMS have not released the individual’s identity at this time. A cat was also found dead inside of the home and has been removed by Humane Rescue officials.
Firefighters pulled the person from the burning top floor of the apartment in the 4700 block of Benning Road, SE.
