Homeless People Rescued from St. Louis Abandoned Warehouse Fire

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Two people had to be rescued from an abandoned warehouse fire at Second and Biddle Street early Sunday.

St. Louis firefighters have been working for more than 20 hours in the deep cold to battle the north St. Louis blaze. The fire started around midnight and went to four alarms. Firefighters continue to battle hot spots,  working in four hours rotating shifts. There is a warming bus on site for the crews.

On this bitter cold day, water used to fight the flames has been freezing onto everything, making for dangerously slick conditions for fire crews  and also icing up equipment. One firefighter was injured while fighting the fire. He was treated for second degree burns and released from an area hospital.
