Action Training Systems Releases Two Incident Safety Officer Training Programs

Firefighters and other emergency responders are subject to many hazardous situations.  To  safeguard and help protect personnel from injury and line of duty deaths an Incident Safety Officer (ISO) oversees the emergency operations at the scene.   The ISO acts as a risk manager by continually monitoring scene conditions and responders actions. To be effective, the ISO must know the typical hazards associated with a wide range of emergencies operations and be able to advise and direct these activities.

Incident Safety Officer – Roles & Responsibilitiespresents an overview of the responsibilities and general duties of an ISO as established by NFPA 1521…  Also reviewed are the essential professional characteristics required for the role of the ISO, including effective communication techniques.

Incident Safety Officer – Incident Scene Safetyexamines the role of the Incident Safety Officer at the scene of various types of emergency incidents.  Assessment and specific safety considerations are presented for incidents such as structural firefighting operations, technical rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and MCI’s.

Action Training Systems (ATS) works with fire, law enforcement and EMS personnel to produce high-quality video demonstrations that meet national competency requirements.
