My Training:
I have had the ability to train and receive an education in many forms of firefighting. I am currently trained in structure, wildland, and ARFF. I am also trained and experienced in HAZMAT and explosives.
About Me:
Firefighting is a service with alot of history. The pride that comes with fire/rescue service is a pride that is built on the shoulders of many hard working men and women before us. I am very greatful to have the ability to work in their shadow and legacies. Fire service rarely gets invites to graduations, weddings, anniversaries, etc. We are in the "worst day of your life" business. That is what we get invited to.

Top Issues Facing Responders:
One of the biggest is recruitment and retention in the volunteer side of fire service.
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
Not only making a difference, but I love being the captain of station 31. The crew here are devoted and hard working. Nobody does it better than the house of 1's!

I could also presume, that during the days of the horse drawn steam engines that they painted the engine red in case the Dalmatians or other dogs failed their duty and a horse thief was able to make off with the horses and the engine was still attached they would be able to spot it easier. IDK

I’ve always heard it was because all automobiles were painted black during the early decades of the automotive industry. So to make fire engines stand out they painted them red. Anything furthers then this I do not know, but I am curious to find out what your answer is.

Hi,

This is Melanie (Goddess), nice to meet you. I have a lot more x-rays like this. See, I am a paralegal in the State of New Hampshire. You would die laughing if I show you every x-ray that I come in contact with.

thanks. i'm doing much better. a young FF on my crew is having trouble sleeping and hasn't got over it yet. he hasn't showed any emotion during our CISD or during our duty together yesterday except for frustraion that it happened... so i'm most worried about him and some of the child's family members and the truck driver have been admited into the hospital for Mental Health concerns.
anyways, it's over. i'm ok... i'm trying to help my crew recover as well and my EMS Lt has been great and has been talking with all of us.
hope all is well for you.
Take care!
