My Training:
I am only a junior member, but I currently hold a healthcare provider CPR certification. I also have had ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800. I have taken my HIPPA, Blood Bornes, and OSHA requirements classes. I also sit in on EMT con ed. classes every month. I have now passed my NC state EMT class and test...just waiting on the card.
About Me:
I joined Maiden Rescue Squad when I was 14 years old because my dad had been a volunteer there since I was little. I had always been around Maiden Rescue as a child and so I had always wanted to be a member. I have competed in my state's rescue association junior bls competition twice. Once as a secondary crew member and once as the lead "emt". The year that I was the lead "emt" we won 3rd place in our state, thats 3 out of 12 junior teams. I also am a member of Lincoln County Life Saving Crew, I have only been with them for a short time. I joined up there because they allow their juniors to run emergency calls and that was something I had always wanted to do. I love running calls. I am also the president of HOSA at my school. Through HOSA I competed in an EMT competition and again won 3rd in the state. I attended the national EMT competition but did not make it into the final round. All in all I have had an eventful 3 years of emergency service involvement and I intend to have many many more.
