Other Past or Current Departments:
I became a paid firefighter in 2004 at james island fire department. I worked their for 6months became a backup driver, then six months later got promoted to enginner. Three months later I started acting. I worked there for 2 1/2 years then went to the naval weapons station fire department
My Training:
FFI,FFII,FOI,EMT,HAZMAT OP'S, HAZMAT IC , DO: Aerial
Top Issues Facing Responders:
The fire department of today has changed from the fire departments of the past. I hear stories from the older guys telling me different traditions and things they have done. I think the new generation of firefighter's don't have the brother hood or the traditions as they have in the past. Everyone cares about themself anymore or theirs just no time. I think firefighter saftey has come a long way from where it has been, but the only time the fire service focusses on the issue is when we lose a fire fighter.
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
