- Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
- After listening to my husband for over 3 years tell me how much I would love EMS. I decided to get my basic card so that my hubby and I could both volunteer for our local department. It was something that we could do together; then I got my card and hubby was right I love it. I can't wait to get my medic now. I have a bad knee which is keeping me from getting my fire card.

- understaffing and people not open to change. People not taking training seriously. I know of a good handful of people that read the newspaper while the dept. is having EMS training.
