They said that he got himself out and then WENT BACK IN and rescued some of his classmates. When asked why he said, "I was hall monitor, and watching out for his classmates was his responsibility" I can't speak for the members of firefighter nation, but i want to make him an honorary chief. That story put a lump in my throat and reminded me about the… Continue

EMS and responsibilities to act

EMS in my county is taking a beating for being first on the scene of a car in the water and not going in after a screaming victim. they are getting slammed by the citizens (none of which attempted a rescue of their own) saying that EMS has a responsibility to act...EMS adm. and I say that they did right by not acting since they were NOT trained to do water rescue...i believe in the first rule of rescue...."dont become a victim", but the rush to judgement continues. i am behind them 100% if you d… Continue

Apparantly he was not well known out of E1 or Ladder 2. My old man was an MPO and drove the old 8711 (the Ward LaFrance) and the newer WLF's. Perhaps you know of John Rampant? He drove for the Minutemen. Jimmy McInerny? both are old family friends.

I took FS classes @ SCCC too... I graduated from Red Rocks Community College in '04...only took 20 years...lol.

Stay low and let it blow,

Mac
