Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
I first became a firefighter back in 1995. It was always a child hood dream of mine to do so. I also love helping outhers when they need it the most. I currently work full time as a firefighter/EMT b and still voluntier as well. I also serve as an advisor for the Jr firefighter post that we run at my voluntier station. We can proudly say that the post is 13 members strong and currently have 2 going through the firefighter rookie school as well.

I have been a firefighter since 1995. Over those years I have rose from the ranks of rookie firefighter to the current role as Lt. I have recently began firefighting as a career with the City of Sumter fire dept. I am a ff1/EMT B their. I am taking my EMT I as we speak. I love my job and could not think of anything else I would want to do.

South Carolina Firefighter Injured in Engine Crash

Courtesy of SConFire.com JACKSONBORO, S.C. -- Colleton County Fire Rescue Engine 601 was involved in an MVA, injuring a firefighter. The 25-year-old firefighter is now in stable condition and is being treated at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and a broken leg. hi Hayward, it was great to hear from you. Its a pleasure to add you to my friends list. It sounds like you are very active in the fire service. And it looks like you have great support at home. Im on standby this weekend. Next weekend is my rdo. Cant wait. I work for the Dept Conservation & Environment. We have our own Fire Manangement services where we conduct prescribed burns in our state forests every Autumn & Spring. I look after 9 Nature Reserves Feral Animals, Fauna Trapping, and Noisy Scrud Bird relocations. So my job is varied besides active fire duties. Ill sign off for now may catch ya in the chat room.
