Coral Gables, FL
I Live: (City, State)
Golden, CO

Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
Our mountain community is at high risk for wildfires, and we've had several nearby. Of the various volunteer options I have, I felt the fire service would allow me to contribute the most.
Relationship Status:
Married

FF1, FR, Wildland Ops, Hazmat Ops, Rope Rescue, DO, ICS
About Me:
I do lots of medical calls, a few wildfires and structure fires, and have had some very exciting rope rescue calls. Mostly we train, train, train.
Day Job:
Management Consultant
Personal Site/Profile:

Top Issues Facing Responders:
Attracting and retaining qualified, diverse volunteers for suburban and rural departments.
Developing women and minorities for leadership positions in emergency services
Keeping skills current in departments that experience few non-medical calls, like ours
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
The look on people's faces when I tell them I'm a firefighter. "But you don't really go into burning buildings, right? . . .The REAL firefighters do that, right?"
