Tough Decisions

I found myself in a rough spot and had to make a tough decision. It is with sadness that I have had to hang up the bunkers and turn in my pager in order to keep my family together. Whether or not I'll ever be a firefigher again is in the Lord's hands, may His will be done.

The Naming of Creatures.

The Bible doesn’t make mention of the Garden of Eden and its creation in Genesis 2 until after the making of Adam (Genesis 2:7, 8). This would suggest that all the land and air creatures God made may not have all been lumped into the Garden of Eden, but instead scattered across the face of the earth. How then, I wondered, did Adam name all the animals in a single day? What follows is the result of my meditations and musings on the question. First I need to re-emphasize that the Bible is very cl… Continue

All Heart!

This is the story behind my photo entitled "All Heart" (it's also my profile pick). At last week's drill we hosted several Cub Scout dens. I was assigned to help the youngsters in their attempts to knock over a traffic cone with the hose line. It was a blast as I started cycling scouts through in two man teams. We quickly realized that we wouldn't get all of them through in the time allotted so the den leaders sent the boys up to the nozzle just as fast as the kids could swap out the coats and h… Continue

A little about me.

I started out in the Fire/EMS world at the age of 16 as an ambulance attendant with the Blossburg Ambulance Assoc., after having witnessed a staged drunk driving accident at my school. The Lord really worked in my heart that day. By the time I was 17 I was a junior firefighter with the Blossburg Fire Dept. as well. By the time I graduated I was an EMT/Firefighter. I went in the Army as an MP in 1993 and wasn't able to continue firefighting so I turned in my resignation. After toying with the ide… Continue

odd .... battle buddy picture worked before... i'll re-upload it ina few.... how'd you like being an MP?

I've thought of it .... but everyone on our tac team is a 6'2" muscle bound male..... and i'm a 4'11" female lol.... I figure at least as an aviation officer/medic i can still do both and can always work the street on OT if i miss the "real officer" feeling......

stay safe,
~Marie
