IN THE PHILIPPINES, THE BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION USES THE HELMET COLOR CODING.THE THE YELLOW HELMET IS FOR THE VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADES,ORANGE FOR THE SPECIAL RESCUE UNIT(SRU) OF THE BUREAU,THE BLUE FOR THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE(EMS),BLACK FOR THE NON-OFFICERS,RED FOR THE LEUTENANT AND CAPTAIN,AND WHITE FOR THE MAJOR UP TO 2 STAR GENERAL.but sometimes it is not observed or being followed due to lack of equipment and the BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION is still on its stage of MODERNIZATION,besides, it is not safe to paint the helmets .

Regular members wear black Cairns 1010's, new members /rookies get yellow Cairns Metro's. No distinction in colors for officers as almost anyone can be command at an incident.

Swanton Vt.
Chief & Asst. Chief's White
Capt's. Red
Lt's. Yellow
FF's Black
Explores get a really nasty looking orange
The Capt and LT's are sometime in black leathers and if so the front for an LT is white with black letters and the Capt;s front is white with Red letters

you're kidding right? The dept. to which I belong used to worry about stuff like that. Keep it simple. Ask yourself...what do the large dept.'s do....not so much as to act like them...but these are the ,guys doing it day in and day out and do they have these problems identifying who is who? I think not. The FDNY puts more men on a scene than anyone and everybody wears black except for chiefs. They identify by front shields (color/rank,if applicable, unit # and id #). Its kinda funny....ya get these small depts. that put 15 guys on the fireground and and not 4 guys have the same color helmet.
