The fire truck was responding to a medical call on Wednesday when its driver slowed in the passing lane as he approached an emergency vehicle crossover in Sanbornton, New Hampshire. State police said, the man from Kansas City, Mo., hit the truck from behind. The firefighter driving the truck was not hurt however the man who hit the fire truck suffered minor injuries. The damage knocked the fire engine out of service. The man from Kansas City was charged with negligent driving.

This is just another example of why we need to be aware of everything around us at all times. Check and recheck all areas around your vehicle, even when lights and sirens are activated. Sometimes, our public just doesn't see us, even when all we can do to be seen is already done...
