Video: 7th Albuquerque Firefighter Arrested, Removed from Department

Firefighter is seventh in the AFD to be in trouble with the law in the past 2 years

Published Thursday, May 17, 2012

Thirty-nine-year-old firefighter Dominic Otero was seen swerving his truck without headlights on. When police pulled him over, he refused to take a breath-alizer test. This is Otero's second DWI since 2009. Six other AFD firefighters have been in trouble with the law in the past two years. The AFD chief says DWIs are taken very seriously, but first-time offenders have been allowed to stay on the job due to a union deal. The chief says that's got to change.
