Program Launched to Keep Camden Firefighters Safe

“Boots on the Ground” identifies hazardous structures in the city

CAMDEN, New Jersey (MyFoxPhilly) - On Wednesday, the City of Camden got proactive about protecting the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect us. City officials announced a new program called "Boots on the Ground." The goal is to locate and get rid of dangerous materials in abandoned buildings that could hurt firefighters during a fire. Officials launched the program after a series of fires in abandoned buildings in Camden last year.
