Mesa Apartment Fire Leaves 15 Homeless
4 a.m. blaze started in a corner unit on the third floor

An early-morning fire in a Mesa, Ariz., apartment complex initially had reports of 40 people evacuating; however, due to construction features, the fire didn't spread as rapidly as was expected, and the number of evacuees dropped significantly. A total of 15 people were left without a home.
